Itinerary Type – Gorilla Safaris
Destination – Uganda

Itinerary Summary

Take a Gorilla Express in Uganda and experience an African Jungle in the thickest National Park in Africa. If you love nature and the jungle, then escort to search and treck the most rare Mountain Gorillas.

Day 1: Entebe
Arrive Entebbe International Airport, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the Lake Victoria Hotel. After you settle in, you are transferred by boat to Ngamba Isalnd Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Uganda’s newest sanctuary for orphaned and rescues Chimps. The transfer to the island takes about 45min. View either a morning or afternoon feeding of the Chimps from the visitor’s platform and hear an informative talk by sanctuary staff. Entebbe is a small town, located on the edge of Lake Victoria. You may also like to spend some time exploring the town on foot, or you can take a taxi into Kampala and visit the craft and curio markets there, the Kasubi Tombs and Museum. In Entebbe there is the Wildlife Education Centre, and you can see, close up, the large, slow-moving shoebill stork, or you can try your hand at golf on the local 9-hole course.

Day 3: Bwindi National Park
An early morning start. Today is the day you trek into the ancient rainforest for an encounter with a family of mountain gorillas. These massive primates are extremely rare – only 600 remain. You will get within metres of the family, and spend time amongst them. Mountain Gorillas are wild animals, as such sightings cannot be guaranteed, however the success rate is well over 90%. The rainforests are high in the mountains, so the hike is quite strenuous and high fitness levels are recommended.
